"V": The New Pilot - April 28, 2009

MORENA BACCARIN REVEALS MORE ABOUT THE NEW "V"

When speaking as part of the Women in the Whedonverse panel at Orlando's FX convention, Morena Baccarin discussed the subject of "V". "I just shot the pilot," she says, "which I'm looking forward to seeing whether I'm in it or not. I don't know if you remember the show, but I remember sitting up one night with my brother and we were both petrified when their faces peeled off. [Thankfully] I didn't have to do any prosthetics.
"My character's name is Anna," she continues, "and she's modeled a little bit after the Diana character in the original. From what I remember, Diana was vicious. She was eating hamsters and killing people. We toned it down a little bit and they're a little friendlier to the human race when they first arrive. I can't reveal too much about it, because the series isn't picked up yet. It's just a pilot and we're waiting to hear. But there's some sick stuff in it, which is pretty great."

Has anyone heard how the new pilot is testing. I can't believe there have been no leaks. If anyone knows how it looks or how it's being received I would love to hear. Just joined today btw. Nice work on this site. I will be back! Smile

but hey, that's just one opinion, I won't elaborate as certain people here get all girly about critiscisms of Vino.

I would not read too much into that statement. It could simply mean that during the pilot shoot, her character does not get exposed as a reptile.

Yeah. I reacted without thinking (or remembering that I've read the script, duh, heh).

Two things I don't want is for V to be toned down or lack the prosthetics that hide the alien's true nature, and her comments directly addressed those two points, heh.

Let's just hope they don't use CGI on a television budget for the reptile effects.

From the script, it appears like they're avoiding the very things that caused the previous series to differ from the mini series, like the voices and laser beams (those were taken out of V The Series because they were too expensive to produce, right?).

They'll probably only use CGI when showing the exterior of the ships, and maybe some interiors.
